Saliva is the debut studio album by American nu-metal band Saliva. The album was recorded in the summer of 1997 at Rockingchair Recording Studios in Memphis, Tennessee with producers Bill Pappas and Mark Yoshida, along with Saliva co-producing. The CD was released through executive producer Mark Yoshida's own independent record label, Rockingchair Records on August 26, 1997. The original album release's artwork features a big "S" with the word "Saliva" in a white font over a black background. This was designed by graphic artist Brandon Seavers at multi-media studio Audio MasterWorks. The original version of this album is said to have sold in excess of 10,000 copies in two years, making it the best-selling release from Rockingchair Records.
