Rafal Rohozinski is a Canadian expert and practitioner active in the fields of information security, cyber warfare, and the globalization of armed violence. Rohozinski is a founder and principal investigator of two significant cyber research initiatives: the Infowar Monitor, a joint project between The SecDev Group and the Citizen Lab, Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto, which examines and documents emerging trends in cyber warfare; and, the OpenNet Initiative, a collaboration with the Citizen Lab, Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School the Advanced Network Research Group at Cambridge University (now the SecDev Group) and the Oxford Internet Institute, which documents patterns of Internet censorship worldwide. He is a principal investigator and co-author of the 2009 Ghostnet study examining Chinese cyber-espionage.
Rafal Zielinski (born 1957 in Montreal) is an independent filmmaker He is best known for directing films such as Fun (Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Award), Ginger Ale Afternoon, Hey Babe!, Hangman's Curse, Downtown: A Street Tale, National Lampoon's Last Resort and the "King of the B Movies" Roger Corman produced Screwballs and its several sequels. He studied under filmmaker Richard Leacock, one of the pioneers of direct cinema and Cinéma Vérité at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he graduated with a B.S. in Art and Design. On several of his independent films he is credited both as a director, producer and writer and on occasion as "Rafael Zelinsky" and/or "Rafal Haimovitz".
Rafał Omelko (Polish pronunciation: [ˈrafaw ɔˈmɛlkɔ]; born 16 January 1989) is a Polish athlete specialising in the 400 metres. He has won two medals in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the European Athletics Championships.
Rafał Majka (Polish pronunciation: [ˈrafaw ˈmajka]; born 12 September 1989) is a Polish professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe. He is known as a strong climber, and rose to prominence at the 2013 Giro d'Italia, where he finished 7th overall, and 6th one year later. Other major achievements are three mountainous stage wins in the Tour de France as well as the Mountains classification in the 2014 and 2016 edition, two stages and the overall victory at the 2014 Tour de Pologne. He achieved his first Grand Tour podium finish at the 2015 Vuelta a España, where he finished third. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal for Poland in the road race.
