J.I. (born on September 23, 2001), popularly known as 'The Prince of New York', is an American rapper who is best known for appearing in the second season of Lifetime Channel's reality television series The Rap Game, where he was seen competing against the popular musical artist Lil Key. [1][3]

Career


J. I. gravitated towards music as a teen.

He got his large leap forward when he was picked to be a part of the second season of Lifetime's The Rap Game. J.I became a popular contestant as he was pinned against a famous rapper called Lil Key. Despite the fact that he didn't win the reality show, he did manage to gain more fame as a rapper. In 2016, he released a freestyle video titled ‘Quiet Storm,’ which tured into a huge hit on the internet. In the same year, he released a remix version of singer Kehlani’s popular number ‘CRZY.’ [1]

J.I. likewise partakes in different rap fights in and around the United States. Aside being known as a battle rapper, J.I. is also known as a social media celebrity.[2]
