    Susan Travers

    Susan Mary Gillian Travers (23 September 1909 – 18 December 2003) was an Englishwoman who served in the French Red Cross as a nurse and ambulance driver during the Second World War. She later became the only woman to be matriculated in the French Foreign Legion, having also served in Vietnam, during the First Indochina War.

    Susan Travers (born 18 February 1939) is a retired British film and television actress. She is the daughter of the actress Linden Travers and the niece of Bill Travers. She played the role of Arlette Van der Valk, the detective's wife, in the series Van der Valk.

    Susan Traverso is the President of Thiel College. She is their first female President, taking office August 1, 2016 and chosen from a field of 70 candidates Traverso was Professor of History at North Central College, and then served as the provost of Elizabethtown College from 2007-2016. Her Peace Corps service in Yemen and further service of educational coordinator was of interest to the search committee. She also served in Morocco and Yemen.
