    Stephen James Merchant is an English writer, director, radio presenter, comedian, and actor. He is best known for his collaborations with Ricky Gervais, as the co-writer and co-director of the popular British sitcom "The Office," as the co-writer, co-director and a co-star of "Extras," and as the co-host of "The Ricky Gervais Show" in its radio, podcast, audiobook and television-show forms. "The Ricky Gervais Show" in radio form won a bronze Sony Award.

    Stephen Merchant

    Stephen James Merchant (born 24 November 1974) is an English writer, director, radio presenter, comedian and actor. In collaboration with Ricky Gervais, he was the co-writer and co-director of the British sitcom The Office (2001–2003), and co-writer and co-star of both Extras (2005–2007) and Life's Too Short (2011-2013). With Gervais and Karl Pilkington, he hosted The Ricky Gervais Show in its radio, podcast, audiobook and television formats; the radio version won a bronze Sony Award. He also voiced Wheatley in the 2011 video game Portal 2 .

  • Stephen West (Maryland merchant)

    Stephen West, Jr. (1727–1790) was a merchant, plantation owner, and public official from Maryland. During the American Revolutionary War, he manufactured and sold guns, blankets, and other items to the American government, in addition to repairing gun locks and bayonets. He served as a representative from Prince George's County at the Annapolis Convention in 1775 and in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1777 to 1778. He was elected as a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1780 but did not serve. He owned The Woodyard mansion, one of the largest in Maryland at the time. He had over 100 slaves to run his plantation.

    Steven Spurrier (born 1941) is a British wine expert and former merchant who has been described as a champion of French wine. Spurrier organized the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976, which unexpectedly elevated the status of California wine and promoted the expansion of wine production in the New World. He is also the founder of the Academie du Vin and Christie's Wine Course, in addition to authoring and co-authoring several wine books.
