Evert Johannes Willem Verwey, also Verweij, (April 30, 1905 in Amsterdam – February 13, 1981 in Utrecht ) was a Dutch chemist, who also did research in physical chemistry.

It was the 18th edition of the tournament, and was part of the ATP Super 9 of the 1993 ATP Tour and of the WTA Tier II Series of the 1993 WTA Tour. It was held from March 1 to March 15, 1993.

Frans Evert Eloranta (10 October 1879 – 1936) was a Finnish politician and a Member of the Parliament for the Social Democratic Party in 1908–1918. During the Finnish Civil War, Eloranta served as the Minister of Agriculture of the Finnish Socialist Workers' Republic. In March 1918, he was elected the commander-in-chief of the Red Guards as a member of the triumvirate with Eino Rahja and Adolf Taimi. After the war, Eloranta fled to the Soviet Russia, where he allegedly died in 1936.

He competed in the 5000 m at the 1948 Summer Olympics and in the marathon at the 1956 and 1960 Summer Olympics with the best result of eighth place in 1956. He won the Košice Peace Marathon in 1955.
