    Eleftherios Kyriakou Venizelos (Greek: Ελευθέριος Κυριάκου Βενιζέλος, romanized: Elefthérios Kyriákou Venizélos, pronounced [elefˈθerios cirˈʝaku veniˈzelos ]; 23 August 1864 – 18 March 1936) was a Greek statesman and a prominent leader of the Greek national liberation movement. He is noted for his contribution in the expansion of Greece and promotion of liberal-democratic policies. As leader of the Liberal Party, he was elected eight times as Prime Minister of Greece, serving from 1910 to 1920 and from 1928 to 1933. Venizelos had such profound influence on the internal and external affairs of Greece that he is credited with being "the maker of modern Greece", and is still widely known as the "Ethnarch ".

    Eleftherios Venizelos (Greek: Ελευθέριος Βενιζέλος) is a former municipality in the Chania regional unit, Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Chania, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 18.806 km2 (7.261 sq mi). It is centred on the town of Mournies, due south of the city of Chania. The municipality was named for the Greek statesman Eleftherios Venizelos, who was born in Mournies. Other settlements include the villages of Nerokouros, Vandes and Agios Georgios. As of 2011, the population of the municipal unit was 10,586.

    Eleftherios Venizelos Museum of Chalepa is an historic house museum in Chania, Crete, Greece. It is the paternal house of Eleftherios Venizelos, where he lived from 1880 to 1910, and occasionally, from 1927 to 1935. In March 2002, the Greek state assumed the ownership of the Venizelos residence, and then ceded it to the Eleftherios K. Venizelos Foundation. It is an historical house museum.

    An outdoor statue of Eleftherios Venizelos is installed outside the Embassy of Greece, on Massachusetts Avenue between Sheridan Circle and 22nd Street, NW, in Embassy Row, Washington, D.C., United States. It was erected by the Hellenic Parliament in 2009. Near the statue is a plaque with the inscription: Eleftherios Venizelos / 1864–1936 / Liberal Politician, Statesman, Social Reformer / One of the most prominent Greek and European Leaders of the 20th Century. / He marked the modernization of Greece with his political initiatives.
