• Booker T. Laury

    Lawrence (Booker T.) Laury (September 2, 1914 – September 23, 1995) was an American boogie-woogie, blues, gospel and jazz pianist and singer. Laury worked with Memphis Slim and Mose Vinson but did not record his debut album until he was almost eighty years of age. He appeared in two films.

    Port Williams is a Canadian village in Kings County, Nova Scotia. It is located on the north bank of the Cornwallis River. The village is named in honour of Sir William Fenwick Williams, who fought in the Siege of Kars (which is the namesake of Kars Street, Port Williams). Williams became the first post Canadian Confederation Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. As of 2016, the population was 1,120.
